Kyohei Inukai (1913-1985) was born in Chicago and attended the Chicago Institute of Art, the National Academy of Design and the Art Student League in New York City. Inukai was a painter, sculptor, printmaker and Haiku poet. One of his favorite subject in his printmaking was cats, portrayed in a whimsical manner.
